Had a few hours wait for our bus so we got some Indonesia food which was really good, and lucky to get because of Ramadan. I started talking to a girl nearby called Mia, because she was making this decoration thing and it looked really interesting. She spoke some English and so I asked about her family and thinggggs.
The buses have these metal grid things on the windscreen, because they drive really fast and there are so many potholes. But when they drive at night and are overtaking etc, sometimes bricks and wood and things fall off the lorries and could smash into buses. So there’s that. Oh and then one of the bus drivers saw me taking a photo and insisted on a selfie together hahaa.
It was a pretty hideous bus journey in the end actually, meant to be 12 hours but it broke down so more like 15, and it was overnight. And when it broke down we ha no idea where we were or why and nobody spoke English! But it was all fine and we headed to the jungle afterwards in Bukit Lawang
